GUADALAJARA, Mexico (AP) — Uruguay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera asked to be replaced at halftime against Spain in the World Cup on Friday night after he made a mistake that led to a goal, coach Marcelo Bielsa said.
A loss would see Uruguay eliminated at the group stage for the second World Cup in a row, having also done so in 2022. While Spain and Uruguay are facing off in Jalisco, Mexico, the other group finale between Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia is also taking place in Houston.
